Sequus has recently discovered the power of mind mapping software as a tool to guide the development of a strategic plan and as a means of recording and maintaining the plan. We use MIND MANAGER PRO 7 from MINDJET. You can find their website at this link.
We have created several templates from which we develop strategic planning guides for meetings. We are also discovering that these maps allow several persons, each with the software loaded on their computer, to collaborate on a plan without ever being in the same room. This process, combined with the results of on-line surveys can truly move strategic planning to the virtual level. (We are now part of a group that is beta-testing a version of the Mind Map software that is housed on the net allowing a whole team to develop and implement a plan without coming face-to-face.
