THE 'NEW VISION' OR "RENEWAL" MODEL

SITUATION: THE ORGANIZATION IS IN DECLINE AND SEES PLANNING AS A FORM OF RENEWAL OR TURNAROUND

When this is the case we use a process that begins with the development of a new vision for the organization and works back to the present to figure out how to get there. It has several components as follows..

• Develop a statement that provides a clear and compelling sense of future direction that leads to action.
  

• Assess where you are now relative to the new vision.
  

• Identify what is standing in the way of moving to the new vision.
  

• Identify what is driving the movement to the new vision.
  

• Develop a list of a half dozen or so key issues that must be addressed in order to move closer to the vision.
  

• Prepare a detailed plan of action for each area of strategic focus.
  

• Develop a Financial Plan including an income statement and balance sheet projected over the life of the plan.
  

• Implement the plan
